BOTOX
Botox is injected to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, typically crows feet, forehead and frown lines. Botulinum toxin works by relaxing the muscles that surround wrinkles.
It can take up to two weeks to see the full effect and it lasts around three to six months. It may be used in conjunction with injectable fillers to improve results.
FILLERS
Fillers are injected just under the skin to reduce the appearance of facial lines, folds and indented scars.
They can also be used to enhance or restore facial contours by adding volume to lips and cheeks. The ageing process leads to loss of volume in our faces. Fillers can replace that lost volume by plumping out wrinkles and folds.
Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid which is a natural component of skin. Results can last up to 18 months.
Botox and fillers should only be used by trained medical professionals.
All surgical procedures and injectables carry some risk. You can reduce the chance of complications by choosing a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who is trained, qualified and accredited to perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
